ALL AROUND ME

All around me are sycophant slaves of society.
They make it harder and harder to breathe.
Blinded by their actual enemies.
The weight of bosses, gods, and governments
perpetually pushing down on you.
Pushing down on me and
pressing our pathetic dreams.

Sixty hours,
days and nights.
They fill their quotas with worker's strife.
Leaving us no time for life.

No time to read a book.
No time to date our spouses.
No time to raise our kids.
No time to leave our houses.

I see husks,
I see shells,
working, slaving, sycophanting.
Saving dimes 'til
something happens.

And we're all pets of the rich and famous.
We work for them and make their payments.
They sell us phones to fund their spaceships.
They commision work and steal the credit.

I think they'll leave and stay away.
I know that they'll regret the space.
